Who I Am:
My name is Nova Goldberg and I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in San Francisco with over nine years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults and couples. I am a mother of two who is equally exhilarated and exhausted by the trials and tribulations of parenthood. I love what I do for a living and feel my best when I am helping others through difficult moments in their lives.
What I Believe In:
Looking at solutions not problems.
We feel like our problems are so big and heavy, but if you step back you are probably doing a lot more good than you know.
Based on Solution Focused Brief Therapy, I work with my clients by focusing on the solution rather than the problem.
This isnʼt about minimizing or ignoring your problems, it is about amplifying your strengths.
Together we work to change your personal story.
Start where you are, share what you want, to go where you want to go.
My goal is to empower you to find what is already working and recreate that for yourself.
It is about teaching you how to build safe and healthy relationships in real life.
It is about letting go to achieve what you want.
It is about accepting change, believing in possibility, and allowing yourself to be vulnerable.
This is your life, you should be getting more of what you want out of it.
How We Work Together:
The law of diminishing returns
A lot can be done in a sort amount of time. I work with my clients in short term sessions, typically 8-12 sessions per client.
We start by getting specific about your goals – not just where you want to go or what you want to accomplish but how you want to feel when you get there.
We start at the end and create specific measurables for the goals you set for yourself.
